Your federal and provincial governments have programs to help you with your renovations in order to increase the energy performance of your home. By increasing the energy performance of your windows, doors and insulation, you will reduce your energy loss and your energy bill. You will save on your high energy performance products purchases and your energy consumption.

Eco-Action | Office of Energy Efficiency

Eligibility

You are eligible for a grant if you own a single-family home, detached residential building, semi-detached home, or multi-family building with a maximum of three floors.

Grant

  • Maximum amount: $5,000
  • $40 per opening (doors and windows)
  • up to $3,500 on insulation
  • up to $3,500 on heating
  • $65 per low flush toilet

4 Easy Step(s)

  1. Have your building’s energy efficiency evaluated by a certified adviser. Call Manitoba Hydro Power Smart at 1-888-624-9376

  2. Complete some or all of the recommended improvements within 18 months.

  3. Have your property’s energy efficiency re-evaluated. Your adviser will then apply for a grant in your name.

  4. You will receive a check in the amount of your grant within 90 days.

Power Smart EcoEnergy In-Home Energy Evaluation | Hydro-Manitoba

Eligibility

You are eligible for this program if you own a single-family home, detached residential building, semi-detached home, or a multi-family building with a maximum of three floors.

Grant

  • Manitoba Hydro will give you detailed information on how to significantly reduce your energy costs.
  • $100 rebate on the post-retrofit energy assessment (a $125 value) if you are eligible for a grant of $400 or more from the federal government.
  • up to 100% of the insulation costs are coverfed under the power smart home insulation program

4 Easy Step(s)

  1. Have your building’s energy efficiency assessed by a certified energy adviser. Call 1-888-MBHYDRO for an appointment (assessments cost $180). Your adviser will assess your property to compile a set of recommendations to help you cut down on your energy bills.

  2. Complete some or all of the recommended improvements within 18 months.

  3. Have your property reassessed. Your adviser will apply for a federal grant in your name.

  4. You will receive a check for the specified amount from the federal government within 90 days.
